“Birds communicate, humans can sing.”
~ Jonathan Safran Foer
Pam practices the art of hosting (the conversation that matters) in her life and work. She is creates -metaphorical- containers. E.g: for a long term mission to be co-created, and for everyone in the team to work with a concious awareness of purpose in day to day activities. Why do you do what you do?
Pam loves to work with creative and ambitious knowledge experts, and bring their successful initiative to a next level by getting the minimal optimal structure in place. She is very passionate about MAPLAB’s role in breaking boundaries of disciplines in the performative art field, and really believes in MAPLAB’s approach of lowering the threshold for experimenting with technology on one hand and continuous open source development on the other.
Pam is a cum laude dramatugy MA from the University of Amsterdam. She started her career at Capgemini Consulting’s Accelerated Solutions Environment as project manager of group intervention events. She co-designed the events with the facilitator, bringing a dramaturgical perspective to creating the right metaphor for the client to tackle their issue. Meanwhile training corporate management skills. In 2010 she founded her own company for succesful change events. She was freelance business manager for Amsterdam Fringe Festival edition 2011 and 2012, where she made a significant contribution to the professionalisation of the festival.
Besides MAPLAB Pam also coordinates HKU Research Centre Performative Processes. She recently started a part-time ba course in Zen Shiatsu massage therapy.
